Good deal?

I've found a 1998 M6 SS with 66K miles. The car is in great shape and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. It runs out strong and is completly stock. I can get it for $12,599.00. Should I buy it. I've got a 98 Z A4 now w/ very minor mods and I've always wanted an M6 SS. Just looking for a little advice. If there is anything I should be concerned with or anything in particular I should look at, let me know.
Thanks Guys and Girls!
Scott

Are you buying from a lot or individual. I guess the price is ok if it's from a lot and is a true ss. I bought a 99' w/62,200 on it for $7500 that had every option except leather. A paint job was put on it and it looked brand new. I passed on a 98' that had everything w/ a 6-speed for $8400 that had 61,000 on it. The choice is yours. That price is cheaper than what I've seen the true ss's going for that doesn't have a reconstructed title or is wrecked.

It's on a lot and it's got a dash plaque, so I assume that it's a true SS. Everything that I know about SS cars is on the car. Is there anything I should check specifically?

Get the VIN and got to SLP and ask to find out if it is one of their SSs. That price is good, I don't know where you are getting those prices Cory, but I would love to live where you do. I would have 3 or 4 cars if I could get them for that price.
Personnally I would get a 99 or newer, due to the 98 computers. 98 cars are just the slowest ones for some reason. They are the only ones with steel gas tanks, and edge bolt valve covers.

sounds good to me. yes, if it has the dash plaque you could only buy that w/ a vin. look on the passenger door for an slp options sticker. or like mykdiver said go to the slp website and type in the vin on the vin locator and they will let you know

I've been to the slp website and I can't find a vin identifier. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Just to let everybody know, the SS checked out. It's #2702 and I'll be it's new owner on Tuesday the 17th. Finally, an M6 SS in the stable. Thanks for everybody's help.

A buddy of mine was asking about the dash plaque. Is that not standard on a 98 SS? His is a 99 and doesn't have an "SS" dash plaque. Does anyone know where or if he can get one? Why does mine have one?
As always, any assistance is appreciated.

My friend bought a brand new 02' Firehawk that didn't have the plaque. He had to call SLP to get it.

I am about to buy a 98 Z28....should I wait and try to find a 99 for about the same price?
