does this make sense to you?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6420

the car is listed as a v6. however, it is very obviously a WS-6, as per the hood. It is also very obviously a T/A, not just a firebird as listed (front liscence plate mount, fog lights), so it should be a v8, not a v6. So with both the WS-6 hood and the T/A front, it should very definitely be a V8, unless he put the hood and fog lights and etc. on there himself.

i'm just curious becuase i just bought a power window motor from this guy, and i'm afraid he doesn't quite know what he's talking about, or maybe he just makes confusing cars

From everything I could tell it looks like he had a 6 cylinder firebird that he put the hood and nose from a WS6 on. He may have done some damage to the front a fixed it with those parts, or he could have just swaped them out.

Well, you did notice some poor English and typos right? A "turn up"? Sorry, but it's just not that convincing to me. I'd be wary, and if the guy sold you some bulls-on you know what, then I'd give him some serious negative feedback. That is most definitely a TA, and if anything he probably threw a V6 in there and kept the original motor/placed it in another car. The guy doesn't convince me...

You check out the VIN or anything? Maybe he modded it to a TA

By only looking at cosmetics you really cant determine what car it is. You guys are jumping to conclusions here. Without a picture of the engine you really can't say that this guy is a fake. It is farily easy to swap the body panels to make it look like something else. It's a whole lot easier than it is to do an engine swap at least. A V6 Camaro with the SS hood and spoiler doesn't make it a SS.

Ok, curiosity got the better of me and I ran a VIN report on this car. It is a v6; it was also a rental car before this guy owned it.

Mystery solved. lol

lol, yuck. Rental...I hope it's reconditioned before getting sold off to the highest bidder. Otherwise it's a good-looking fall apart car.

If you read the question to seller part down at the bottom of the listing the owner states that he swapped the parts to give it "the look" of a WS.6. Garbage car + A-hole owner = trouble for unassuming buyer!

Thanks for your opinions, guys.
I thought it might have just been cosmetic ups on a base firebird, thanks for confirming.

edit: doh! i have a haynes manual right next to me that describes how to tell what kind of engine a 4thgen fbod has, as well as the year it's made. it's definitely a '98 3800.
