it can give you way more than that if thats what you want to do. heads can be a couple grand cams are not all that expensive, and headers are around 800 or so. you will need to rework alot for it all to work well for you tho

A decent h/c package will conservatively increase hp by at least 100 RWHP. You can realize much more with wilder cams and more detailed porting.

What is your guys' opinions on Kooks headers? I'm gonna look into buying those in the future after i get my gears and flowpac from SLP. I'm thinking of going with 3.73s from Motive, good choice? I've heard the 4.10s break more often. Also, i can't go with a 12 bolt quite yet so thats out of the picture for now unless i can get a 12 bolt and 4.10s for under a grand

A cam that will give you 100 hp by itself is NOT going to be street friendly. If you drive your car to more then the track, I say stay away from something that big.

As for Kooks headers. They are very nice headers! Some of the best on the market. Motive also makes nice gears, so you should be pleased with those as well. I do recomened that you pic up a rear end girdle and stuc kit. Thunder sells them for a decent price.

ok i'm not familure with all the LS1 stuff yet but I do know my way around a Gen 1 Block and I KNOW that a Cam that gives you 100+ HP is going to be a racing cam and you will not have any vacume. ok maybe a little but not enough for street use. for street I would suggest a mild to hot cam nothing really big but bigger than stock obviously. the only thing with LS1 cams is that they are alot more expensive than a Gen 1 block Cam, Mine will cost around 150-200 yours will be like 300-500 give or take. I would suggest getting the Comp Extreme Energy Cam or the SLP Cam.

here is a Head and Cam Package I would look at if I were you.

http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/inc/...l?v=1&pid=1291

it has the cam and the heads only problem is you have to assemble them, (Not that big a deal) and for a little added horse power I would grab me some Aluminum Roller Rockers from Summit for the LS1. you'll be making SWEET horsepower then.

From what I have seen about the biggest you can go and still keep a daily driver status is something like the Comp Cams 222/224 566/568 112. That cam should give you around a 60 hp gain. Now if you add LT headers to that your looking at around a 80-85 hp gain. And with heads youll be over 100 hp to the rear wheels. And morbid is right. A LS1 cam is going to be in the 250-500 dollar range. The one I just gave you can be got ahold of for 350 which is a very good price.

Thunder Racing also sells a very similar cam to this and it goes for 450 if I remember right.

Not without a dyno tune, that cam will require a reprogramming of your ECM so add $500 to the cost of the cam.

Yes youll defintaly need a retune with any cam that you get. But yes that cam should net you right at 60 hp. There is a guy on here that went from right at 300rwhp and aded a cam and Jooker LT headers and moved up to 380 rwhp!!! Thats impressive. If you interested in that cam check out www.racenet.net They sell a cam package which youll need because the stock springs an pushros are not strong enough for a big aftermarket cam. I think that their kit sells for 570ish. VERY reasonable.
