Auto anygood for racing?

I just got a 2002 T/A that's auto. Just about everyone in my Auto tech class is putting me down since its auto. I told them the LS1's run in the 13's stock and this one guy says that's only the manual one's. So when it comes down to it is auto better for staight away racing unless the manual driver sucks at shifting?

Autos are just as fast as sticks. Get a shift kit, a stall, and some 3.73 gears to compliment the tranny, and you'll be good.

Auto's shift faster than most people with manual tranny's. What kindof cars do the people drive that are talking about your car? If they are slow just race them and shut them up.

They are all full of crap! EVERYONE with a serious drag car runs a automatic tranny. They are consistant and they shift fast. And your car will be mid to low 13's stock. If you add a stall converter, shift kit, and 3.73 rear gears. Youll be well into the 12's. Take em out and drag em down the road and see what they have to say about your auto. An LS1 car with a good stall is deadly on the street

^^^ Yeah, can justify that!! Of course my friend that showed me that with his Z28 has cams, exhaust, blah blah but hes got a 3500 stall and his car is damn fast. And he still doesn't have gears! He wants 3.73s but doesn't have them yet, with those i think he'll be in the 11's, definetly tell them to put up or shut up in your class. They are retarded lol.

Bring them Autos on baby LOL as stated above yes autos are great to race with and ones that setup right will be very consistant to even bracket race if you so desire.

The only car in my class that would even come close to mine is my friend's 1996 Camaro SS(BBk headers, Magnaflow exhaust)

Other cars in class: Integra,Prelude,Passat vr6,z24,mazda mx3,'85 Camaro(LG4),escort gt, pretty much just slow cars.

HAHAHAHA They are all jealous is what it is. That SS is a nice car (and I bet hes not trying to judge you like the others) You run into that when you have a really nice fast car. People always try to poke fun at you because you could have done better. You just let them know that you have the best bang for the buck thats on the market. Ask them what their cars will run in the 1/4. Then when they say 15 or worse laugh. Tell them yours will run mid to low 13's BONE STOCK. And with minor bolt ons you can be in the 12's all day long. Ask them how much money it would take to get their crap wagon into the 12's. Ill bet ya theyd have to trailer their car because it wouldnt be any good as a daily driver anymore.

Dont let jack offs run ya down bro! Just rest assure that you have a VERY bad A** car. And is THE BEST bang for the buck you can get!

I bet if you ask their girlfriends which car they like better, they'll pick yours!
