Need your knowledge Mr. Bowtie

My Z28 is reving up to 1500 rpm's when I go from Drive to Park or from Drive to Neutral. What would cause this? This car is pampered!! Do you know of anything I can do to fix this without spending a ton of cash at the dealership. Thanks for any help you can give, or anyone who has any knowledge of what might be going on here. Adam

Hi Adam!

Is the car throwing any codes? If so I would go have them pulled and see what it says. Also is the car idleing high or irregular or does it just do it between shifting gears? Have you dont any mods recently?

Thanks for the reply guys, is that something that gonna cost me money at the dealership or can I do it? No mods recently. And it doesn't do it all the time either. Sometimes I don't even want to drive it because I don't know if my car is going to have a bad day or not.HAHA. Anyway, it's just nerve racking because I'll go from it being in Reverse to Neutral(where the RPM's sky rocket up)then I have to put it in Drive where it jerks terribly, and that can't be good for the gears and whatever else down there for it to snap like that. But thanks again, and if there is anything else I need to know let me know. ADAM

I know exactly what you mean Adam. Been there, done that...

You can buy the TPS at most parts places, but I would stick with AC Delco. It can be tricky getting the new one stuck in and aligned. Takes a little trial and error/patience, but ain't no hill for a steppa'

You Can Try To Adjust The Screw On The Throttle Body...
You Have To Take The Throttle Body Off Then When Its Off Theres A Screw Under The Arm Thing Where The Throttle Cable Is Hooked To....unscrew It To See If That Works First....and If That Doesnt Work Do The Sensor
