No Start

Ok, I was reporgramming my computer using the Hypertech because of my wheel size. I bought the Z06 rims and was recalibrating the speedo with the computer when the battery died. I was half way through the programming when it happend. Now my car wont start. The battery is fully charged now too. Its almost like it wants to start, but the computer wont let it. Anyway I called hypertech and they said I have to have the computer flashed or rebooted. Can this be done with an OBD computer, like the handheld ones at the dealerships. My buddy can get one to do it, and I'd rather do that, otherwise I would have to have my car towed to the dealership. Are there any other options, or suggestions?

u can try pulling the PCM fuse and letting it sit for a few minutes then try it again.

The dealer or anyone with a Tech 1 or Tech 2 can do it.

Dont plan on hypertech being very helpful. If there is some sort of problem, they likely wont be of much help. I had some issues with mine and they were kind of like Well tuff luck bud, must suck to be you.

Ok I borrowed a "Pro Link" scanner from a friend. Will this work as far as fixing my problem?

Hey Camaro SS, what exactly did the hypertech do? I was in the middle of programming when my battery died, and since i recharged it it wont start. I checked the PCU fuses under the hood and they are fine. What exactly did you send hypertech, and what did they fix. When I talked to them on the phone they said I needed to get my computer flashed and then i would need to try to continue programming or send the programmer out for repair. I did try to continue w/ the programming earlier and i keep getting an error message saying to call hypertech. It was like Error #6 or something like that. I am clueless as to what to do, and it sucks cuz I am w/ out a car now.

Well if the cpu is messed up, would stuff still work?.....everything in the car works except for when I start it. It cranks but its like i got no gas or something. And yes I already checked, I have over a half tank.

No, it's like having a computer with no operating system. I would just get my car to the dealer, have them reflash the PCM, trash the hypertech, and have a custom tune. Actually, what you can do is contact PCMforless and get another PCM then send yours or send yours and have them fix it the way you want. Hypertech sucks.

Ok, because I'm kinda new at this, where exactly is the PCM, is it easy to take out and re-install, and can I possibly bring that to the dealer and have if "flashed" or does the whole car have to go?

The PCM for a 4th gen is right under the right hood strut up against the firewall. It's got a gray cover with a bunch of wires leading to it. It's not too hard to jimmy out, it's designed to pull out of the mount that it sits in fairly easily.

You should call the dealer first and ask if they need the car or just the PCM. It's real easy to remove. Just make sure you disconnect the NEG battery cable first.
