Question re oil gauge

I have noticed that my oil gauge seems to be all over the place when I am driving. I don't mean that it is constantly moving or anything. More like at one time during my drive it will be in the middle. Then fifteen minutes later is is past the 3/4 mark. However, it never drops to be red or goes all the way to the right.
Is that normal/does anyone else see the same thing? I read the manual and it said that as long as it doesn't go to the red that is it considered normal. That is weird to me. It moves too much.

Thanks.

It should increase with acceleration and be steady at idle. If it drops low during braking then you couold have a pick up tube problem.

The LS1 is a very advanced engine so it is always leaning out and then adding fule and also changing fule pressure dependant on what you're doing. As long as it's not moving all around or too high it's cool

May I ask what too high is? Like I said it does go just past the 3/4 mark but never all the way. Is that okay?
