Dyno tuning

I am trying to decide if I want to get a dyno tune. But, I have several questions.

1) my car is total stock. Will I get any real benefits from it?
2) If so, what are they and are they noticeable?
3) Will tuning void my warranty in anyway?
4) If I do a dyno is it a standard procedure or will they ask what specifically I want done? If they ask, what should I focus on to obtain the most gains?
5) The price I am getting is about 150 for three runs or something like that. Is that a normal price?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

If I were you, I'd do some mods before I got it tuned. You will see a gain over the way it is now, but for 150 bucks, you might as well just buy a performance part. The dyno won't void your warranty and yes its standard. Talk to the people performing it and they will have the knowhow to get it done for you. Price is okay too. Not too bad, not the cheapest, but deffinately a good average price.

Yeah, that is my debate. Do I do mods (specifically the free mods) or do the tune. I am just afraid to start the mods because I still have the remaining factory warranty plus another 3 years/45,000 miles.

On a side note...I decided to call the dealer after I posted this. They are claiming that a tune will void the power train warranty (engine/trans). Man, that is screwed up.

Really???!! Wow. I had no idea a TUNE would void the warranty! Careful with the FRA mod as that will void the warranty, too. Sometimes a K&N will void it out too. I don't give a damn about my warranty! I have 11k on my Z and if it messes up, it just justifies more modding!!! I'd say do a catback system first. That won't void it. Some suspension components, brakes, rims, Nittos on the back. The FRA mod is definately worth doing and can be undone with a visit to the junkyard, picking up a spare set of the pieces you cut out. If your car ever needs to be brought back, you just swap out the parts and they will never be the wiser.
