Leaking T-Tops

Ok I am sure this is somewhat of a common problem, but then again I dunno for sure. Anyways.....I have had my Z for awhile now, and at first the T-Tops didn't leak a drop. Now they are leaking, well actually, only the driver side. I was wondering if any of you guys had / have a similar problem and if theres any way to eliminate it? They leak any time it rains, or when I go through a car wash.

This is usually a problem that originates from the body of the car flexing more so than the t-top seals going bad. Your first move should be installing a set of sub-frame connectors on your car. These are a must for any t-top f-body.

Rub a little baby oil into the seals every once in a while, this softens them up and seals them a little better. I do it every time I wash the car.

i dont have t-top but my door seals used to leak pretty bad when I went through a laser wash, but never when it rained. The baby oil trick helped out a little. still has a small leak, but i just dont use laserwashes anymore.

I'd recommend sub-frame connectors to you as well.

my '96 is my 3rd t-topped chevy and one thing ive found that makes them more prone to leaking is doing donuts- causes alot of flexing, avoid the temptation lol. sfc's will help a bay brace might help aswell

if you want the lube to last, use plumber's silicone grease. It's thicker, and lasts for months.
