Cleaning the K&N Airfilter

Does, or has anybody cleaned there K&N airfilter? If so.. what exactly did you do? Did you have to buy a special something.. Or did you just take it out and clean it with water.... please some info

They make what is called a charge kit, it is a 2 part kit with cleaner and oil. It is pretty simple, follow the directions and you cant go wrong. Just give your self plenty of time to let it dry out and dont be in a rush. You can buy the kit anywhere they sell the filters..they run about 8.00 and last long enought to do 3 or 4 cleanings.. Good Luck

alright, thats real good to know... thanks a lot for that information.. sounds really cheap to do... should i check the filter to check for dirt.. or should it be after a certain month?

depends on your driving and miles etc..just check it out once in awile..Most do it when changing oil to stay in a routine of maintenance
