Angry now i'm really fired up!!!!!!!, those with paint experience inquire within please!

Finally got the chance today to clean off all the ice, dirt, grime, snow, and whatever the hell else was on my car to find more deep scratches, nicks, missing paint down to the fiberglass!!, and chips especially right on the tip of the front bumper than I thought possible!!!!!, I am so pissed off. Spring/summer is coming soon and I cant go out looking like that.

Need some serious help, I do not have the $$ nor do I necessarily want to have the car repainted, but I will if I have to.

Also have paint splashes from some moron who spilled his bucket in the street.

Thanks.

First you need to explain it a little more, what color is your car, is it a custom color(candy, pearl), does it have a clearcoat? Are the scratches and chips and such in one particular area, or all over?

You say down to the fiberglass, well in this case you would have to fill the chips or sand it down till they are gone other wise you will see them, when you paint over it. If the area that is damaged is in one particualr area on the car and you don't have a radical custom color(pearl,candy,etc...) then it may be possible to prep(sand and fill) then spot paint that area to match the car, then buff it out to blend the rest in. this could save moeny, but other times if there is area all over the car it may be just as cheap to do the whole car.

There is a many different avenues you can go with painting. From a quickie paint job all the way to show car quality. Give me a few more detail on what you are looking for and the shape of the car maybe I can help more......

Thanks. The car is mystic green metallic and has that slight "color change" property.

1. right rear fender: white scratches as if someone slid against it, with some paint missing, in the center of the missing area there is no paint at all and appears to be a dark color, looks like the plastic underneath.

2. tip of the front bumper: appears as if the paint has been "rubbed" off, probably common when someone backs into your slowly when trying to park, etc.

3. light to medium scratches on the hood, and a ding that is clearly through the clearcoat of the paint and I can see metal.

4. some type of paint chip missing on front bumper, looks as if the color is still there, (not that deep), although the color on the inside area of the chip is not as bright as the rest of the car. not sure if that is through clearcoat or not.

I am going to try to post some pics over the weekend, maybe that will help you in assisting me.

thanks
