Wheel to tire Size Issue

I have an '02 camaro Z28. I want to change the wheels and tires. I'm not sure what wheel size and tires that will fit. Of course I want wider tires. The wheels I'm looking at are Replica Z06 style 18x10.5s. The tires I want to get are 295/35/18 Eagle F1 supercar tires. The OD of the tire is 26.1 with a tread width of 10.8. I know the tires will fit that wheel but I'm concerned whether the rim and tire combination with fit on my car considering backspacing and all. Will I have to keep 17s in the front and step down to 285s. Could you fill me in on what will fit. I'd appreciate it. Thanks

the widest I know of that will fit the front wheels without rubbing would be 275 tires in the front. The wheels will fit fine though if that's what your asking and if you wanted to you probably could throw a 305 or 315 on those 18x10.5's I personally like 18x10.5's in the back and 17x9.5's in the front though I'm gonna be running 17x9.5's all the way around in my car though because tires for the rear would be about $100 dollars more compared to the 17" wheels. The widest you can run safely on those 17's is a 285 I thought but now i'm hearing 295's will work you just couldn't put them on the front cause again a 275 is the widest you can go without rubbing on the front. If I were you I would run 18x10.5's in the back with either a 295,305 or 315 tire and run some 17x9.5's in the front with some 275/40/17's and you should be set... any other questions just ask... I think I covered most of it....

Hey thanks. It's always good to hear a second opinion or two! I just wasn't sure about if it was alright to put a 18s on the rear and keep 17s in the front like the vettes. I'm going to keep 17x9.5's in the front with 275/40s and 18X10.5s 295/35s in the rear.. Does that sound like a good combination to you? I want a lil less sidewall in the rear to compensate for the larger rim and that's what GoodYear recommends for that size rim.

Oh yeah, That was my next question. I'm looking at buy'n the rims but I'm being asked 38 or a 54mm offset for the front 17X9.5s. Which offset should i go with. I'm pretty sure the higher the offset the less the rim will stick out of the wheel well. I think a lower offset is better with a wider tire? I think the 54mm will be fine with 275s

yea my z06 wheels I just got are a 54mm offset just go with that and yea that tire combination sounds great that's what I would run if I were you. Where are you getting these from? I ordered my wheels from tomzwheels on ebay... he's a great guy to work with... a heck of alot cheaper then ordering them from say thunder racing or summit or that. a good place for tires also is http://www.discounttiredirect.com they have free shipping right now also I just ordered my hankooks yesterday... get us some pics up when you get them on.

The ones I'm get'n have the same offset. I bought mine from crowders customizing. I got a great deal...check out his site @ http://shop.vendio.com/crowderscusto...489/index.html
He's awesome when it comes to "hook'n" you up. Check it out!

I'm look'n at some Eagle F1 Supercar GS-Fioranos. They're expensive but you get what you pay for. They look real nice too!

I can't wait to see how they look when they're on!

Thanks again...ttyl
