Arrow Long term storage of Z28..Yes I'm deploying

Hello everyone, well I found out today that I will probably be deploying to Iraq in Jan 06 for about 6 months so I was wondering what things should I do to properly store my vehicle. Things like draining the oil, draining the coolant, leaving the tires off etc, etc. The car will be stored in one of those self storage places inside a 10 x 12 fully enclosed unit. Anybody have suggestions?

I always fill the tank, put the car on jacks, put on a car cover, and disconnect the battery when I deploy. I didn't put it on jacks one time and the tires got messed up.

This is what I did last year.. Put the car on jack stands with a full tank of gas and a bottle of stabilizer. Drained all the fluids and changed them after running it for a day..
Worked fine. In fact its going back in storage for the winter...

I'll probably be leaving myself for a few months come January, off to Lackland AFB. Would it be better for me to store it, or to have my dad drive it around the block once a week? It's not like I'll be gone for more than 3-4 months.

Don't forget to tell your insurance company to only put comprehensive coverage on it! That will keep it protected while it's gone.
