Dyno tune questions

Hey everyone, i am getting a dyno tune on saturday and i need to know if it would be beneficial to have them change my fan temps? If so, what should i have them set at? I know that the shop uses ls1 edit, and they said they would be working on it all day, so is there anything else i should make sure they do? Thanks for all the help guys!

I would really only recommend a fan temp change if you have a different thermostat, otherwise there is no real benefit as the coolant would still only go into the engine once the engine reached a certain temperature. No point in cooling the fluid if it can't go into the engine until it reaches a higher temp. You'll like the tune Scott, I picked up around 32 extra hp from mine. *Results not typical*

But what if you had them change the fan temp just in case later you wanted to change the stat then you wouldnt have to back for a retune? would it hurt anything

No, it would just mean the fans would be running most of the time. It's not a bad idea, I'm just letting him know that without the 160* stat, changing the fan temp would be pretty fruitless.

Phantom is correct, is you do not have the lower temp T-stat the motor will still be running the 195 temps, but if you change the T-stat and lower the fans you can add more timing to the motor, IE more power.

alright, thanks for the answers guys. i am not going to change the thermostat any time soon, someone had just suggested that and i wanted to find out about it. i really think i am going to enjoy the dyno tune, and i think it could really wake up the car. i don't think i am going to get anywhere near 32 extra horses, but it would be a nice suprise.

Is there a website where you can go to find a dyno tune that uses LS1 Edit. How much does it cost for a day's session? Is it much better than the Diablo Sport II programmer?

i think it just depends on the shop that you choose, some use hp tuners and some use ls1 edit. not sure if either one is better or not
