Need info about 2002 supersport

Ok so I only have a '96 camaro RS right now so I'm not in the class with you big boys yet, but when I get a new job here in the town where I live the first thing I want to do is shop for a Supersport so here is my question. Is it true that the Supersport really has more than 325 horsepower and that they only post that as the stock horsepower because they don't want people thinkin it has as much as the new corvettes? Second, if it only does have 325 what is the most cost effective way to boost my HP because I want a big HP jump when I trade in my V6 although I'm happy with it.

Chevy always underates HP. I have a 98 which was rated at 305 at the engine from the factory. I dynoed it with just a lid and filter, and I was 310 RWHP and 325 RWTQ!

Lid
Filter
Headers
Y pipe
Catback
Free ram air
Free EGR mod
Port and descreen MAF
Gears
Traction tires
SFCs
LCAs

Alittle history lesson. There is no SUPER SPORT when it comes to Camaro's.

Chevy never made an ACTUAL super sport model. They did make an SS ( i know this post sounds snobby, but it isnt meant to be. It is meant to just let you know, so you dont own one and go to a club, or show and tell them it is a super sport thats all ).

Chevelles are the same. No super sport. Just ss

Now the impala had the SUPER SPORT badge.

That is why you will never EVER see a camaro with the "SUPER SPORT" badge. Just SS

Guys let me offer my .02 Yes, the Camaro was never called a "Super Sport" For our cars the SS doesn't stand for anything except mas grande power and better than a Z28. Super Sport was reserved for the flagship cars like the Chevelle and the Impala, which contrary to what wyckedCamaro said, was exactly that. And if you don't believe me, look at the 1966-1967 Chevelle SS rear quarter emblem and tell me what it reads, yeah I thought so. I have no idea why the General decided not afford the Camaro the same Super Sport moniker, but never the less it remains an SS.
