Need Help And Adivce
hey guys i own a 99z but i have a friend and his brother is selling his 98 z with mods. Now im not sure what has been done to it but i heard its fast as hell. well anyhow something happend and he tapped someone in traffic and his airbags went off. He is selling the car for 3,900 with 70,000, 6 speed (which i really really want), and t tops. Now my question is if the airbags went off but did not damage the rest of the dash how much would u guys think i could fix it for. Probably using used parts. All help is welcome!!!!!

yea its not chep the driver side is like 500 dollars and the passenger side is a 1000 dollars for the passenger side you whould have to replace the whole dash . i know couse i bought a 1996 z28 racked when i bought and i had to peplace them

One of our members Apachedrill is selling his steering wheel complete with air bag for $100, so you are half way there, you may even want to ask if he will cut loose with the other air bag on the pass side, I don't see why he wouldn't want to sell the other one, seeing as it would shed weight. Oh yeah I forgot, his car is a 1998, so you are in business

The drivers air bag is sold but i still have the passenger side.. send me a PM if your interested.. The drivers side sold last night sorry..

Not if your doing it for weight reduction..lol
Im not sure how the insurance companies do that but for what i understand its based more on the integrity of the frame. If it cost more then what the value is, they will total it as well..

He deff more then "Tapped" someone, it takes a decent hit in order to set off the airbags. It takes two or three modules to trip inorder for deployment. You should deff have the chassis put on a rack. Unless you buy the car for parts. Also if the car has a slavage title you are pretty much screwed. It take so much work to get that removed for a clean title its not worth it.
