Thumbs up washing inside engine bay

ive seen lots of comments about how "fragile and prone to failure the optispark system is ,but to be honest ive got over seventy thousand miles on mine and its endured water pump failures and frequent underhood washing .i dont think its as bad as some would believe .my advice is if you want to clean under the hood do it but dont use high pressure and dont use more than u have to .other than that -keep rolliiiiiin

hiya green94, im a heavy truck mechanic by trade and i dont claim to know a whole lot .ive had my z since new and to tell ya the truth i was apprehensive for awhile about it myself i had heard horror stories of failed parts as soon as i bought mine .but on my job we always pressure wash the engines of the trucks we work on before we make repairs ,hanging on the left hand side of every cat ,detroit and cummins i deal with is a monstrosityof an ecm with more wiring running in and out than you can shake a stick at we blast these engines with 280 degree water for howeverlong it takes to get it really clean ,most of these engines have weatherpack type connectors everywhere .i know its not the same but i think gm considered a certain amount of exposure to water for everthing it puts under a hood ,mine could fail tommorow but from what ive seen it wouldnt be from washing my engine once a month or so
