1st Gen Z28 emblems

I just picked up a pair of first generation Z/28 emblems for the sides of my car. I just wanted to ask what I would use to put them on my car in place of the 4th gen emblems? Some guy told me to use silicone but I dont know if that's safe for the paint. And do the 4th gen emblems come off easily?

Yes it is easy. Just get a flat scraper and slowly and carefully slide it under the emblems to loosen and get the tape to come off of the car. Then use double sticky back tape to put them on with. I just did that to my car, I just repainted my stock emblems, but it is the same idea.

But these emblems are metal, and arent the stock ones carbon fiber or somethin like that? So I'm wonderin if the double stick tape will hold the metal ones.

It should hold if you get good tape. You can also try dental floss to remove the old ones to prevent damaging your paint.

Yes, that is how stock emblems are installed.

Use 3M double sided emblem tape, it's what I used to hold my 69 emblems on. I just took mine off and it was quite a chore.

The original emblems were bolted to the fender. Shaving the back and shaping the emblem is the task. I used a heat gun to get it shapped and 3m tape with no problem. Good Luck
