tire size

ok guys, coming up on tire time. getting them from tirerack. running 245's now. anyone running 255's on the 16inch? any benifits/drawbacks (besides the prices). anyone running 255's on back and 245 on front? thanks guys.

I ran 255s on my old 16" rims and they didnt do anything but help out. Plus makes the cars stance look better as well.

There is no real benifit to running 255 vs 245. The 10mm width difference is only a little over 1/4" wider.

Wider is always better even if it is minimal.

I was in the same situation as you about 2 weeks ago and ended up just sticking with a 245 due to the limited style of tires produced in 255's. I got Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval's and have to say for the price (right around $120 a tire) they are great and can honestly hold their own against alot of the wider tires out there IMHO.
