Smogging in Southern California

I bought my SS in Colorado and now I need to have it smogged in Southern California. The only mod that the previous owner did was a SlP Y-Pipe. Other than that the car is a stock 2002 SS with all the SLP options including the center mount exhaust. Will the car pass smog? If not then do I need to just replace the Y-Pipe or should I try and find somone to "help me out" in the smog test?

do you need to get a normal smog test or a test only?

have you talked to the d.m.v yet? the plain smog test is a simple test, and the guy giving it can "adjust" certain things,
the "test only" test, they hook the car to a computer, and all the results go directly to the d.m.v, or some place like that.

no, i think with the out of state car you might have to do a test only for 2 or 3 years, then you do a basic one, from then on....but ya never know, they might not require the test only

if your car is all stock with an SLP y-pipe you should be fine on the visual, if your car is running good and not a smoker you should pass no problem.
I have the SLP LM1 and y-pipe, no hassles at all.

Yeah, good luck bro. If the y-pipe has the cats still, you'll be fine. You won't pass without them. CA does a visual, a computer and a sniffer test.
