yeah looks like about $2500 worth of damage by the way for all of you who don't have the STB its neccesary it supported over 200 lbs dancing on the hood otherwise their could have been motor damage, like a cracked plastic intake manifold

I hope you at least got a police report, he can later deny that he did it and refuse to pay for it. Of course there is always court then but more money and time. Me I would have beat him then pressed charges, it's the only way he's gonna learn a lesson cause that was just stright up ignorant and drunk is no excuse. Good luck post pics and let us know how it turns out and if we need to make a road trip to "encourage" him to pay his debt

That's where you and I differ.....He is lucky it was you and not me that caught him.

First of all I would be the one in jail for battery and assault.. possibly worse...

You should have pressed charges and them pulled him to the side and offered to drop them if he pays for the damages and fix the car before the court date. This would keep him from avoiding you and not paying, just some good insurance...

Then I would have persuaded the cop to ticket him for public drunkenness, disturbing the peace, damage to person property and anything else I could find.

I dont play when it come to stupidity acts of that nature. If it would have been your or I doing something of that nature they would have thrown us under the jail, what makes it any different for this guy....

This sucks, at least you caught him...I will be willing to bet you dont get all your money. Sorry to say, it is sad but that is how situations like this turn out. People now days are not responsible for their actions anymore.

I would contact his parents(family) and get them envolved too...

I know I will get my money I happen to know him and his family (he did not know it was my car though, which of course does not make his actions okay)!

Jeez it seems like a lot of you have never screwed up in life. I have done things I am not proud of and the last thing that needs to happen is for your faults to be made public in order to destroy your charecter. The kid messed up for dang sure but so have I and there is no need to get him thrown is jail and have stuff on his permenant record his over 18 and that could ruin his life. He has already apologized many many many times and will continue he knows how much damage he did. I am going to get an actual apprasial on the damage done and then I will figure out what to do, I have a police report and I may file a claim, but that will screw with my insurance so I'd rather he pay to fix it.

But finally what kind of aftermarket hoods have you all liked? i dont want an SS hood at all its a z28, so lets hear all we got, remeber SLP flowpac so ram airs will be looks only but lets here the list of hoods!!

p.s. at least I got him! otherwise i would not have anyone to blame or to even press charges against which I can still do if I have to...

Well personally, I know I'm gonna get for this but, I like the WS6 big bulg hoods from the LS1's. If I ever get a new hood for my Z thats what I'm gonna get and don't care one bit what any of you think so there specially you Shaun or Eric or well you get the point
