SS Hood on a Z28

I have a 02 z28 and was going to put an ss hood on it. does anyone have any suggestions because i hear that some dont fit or something.....anyone installed an RKsport ss hood???

The RK-Sport hood is not an identical copy of the SS hood, I would personally either just get a Harwood SS hood which is as close to the original as it gets, or just get the real deal SLP hood through Summit Racing, they have them for $799 right now.

Yep what midnite said, they are the same exact cars underneath so pretty much any parts you find on an SS should fit a Z28 with no problems.

I put an ss hood on my 93 the only thing that I heard is that you need to change your hydrolic hood holder to ones that fit an SS. Because the ones for the metal hood are too much for the fiberglass and will start making two humps in the hood.

The intake area on the tear drop is at an angle, whereas it should be straight, and it uses a chrome grille that mounts with 2 self tapping screws rather than the plastic black grille that mounts flush with the hood.

no you dont have an SS!, sorry thats just my opinion as a fellow z28, research the history of z28 and how it came about (RPO code) so dont disrespect it by putting Super Sport (which is awesome in its own right) parts on it, once again just my 2¢
