Problem with ASR

Over the weekend I drove my '01 Z28 up to northern MN from central IA. About 5 hours into the trip the 'ASR OFF' light comes on. I tried pushing the button to see if it would turn back on, but no luck. I pulled over and turned the car off and on and that fixed it for about 30 minutes. It did this four times over the weekend.

Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this before?

The car is still covered by a bumper to bumper warranty. Do you guys think I shoudl take it in?

Sounds like you might be getting a short in the connection somewhere. I could be completely wrong tho, but if it was me I'd take it in to the dealership and get it checked out anyways since its still under warranty...get your moneys worth out of that warranty

I actually just had a similar thing happen to me a week ago. I drove to a friends house then was idling in the driveway waiting and noticed the light had come on. I just had to hit the switch a couple times before it got back to normal.

Mine did that once a long time ago. It went off on it's own and I couldn't get it to come back on. I turned the car off and back on and it was fine. Haven't had a problem since and that was close to four years ago. I wish the **************** thing had just stayed broken though.

You need to find out what the code is first before we can make any kind of guesses. Right now it could be anything...speed sensor, pinched wiring, bad EBCM, broken harness, etc.
