how much for insurance?

i wasnt sure of where to post this so i chose here if thats alright..

i am looking to become a 4th gen Fbody owner...i am leaning towards a 93-97 trans am or z28 solely because A.they are the only 4th gens i can afford except maybe a '98 B.they are probably cheaper on insurance

i am 16 years old and right now i have a 99 v6 mustang that my dad is the driver on insurance(i think im on my moms beetle or something ahha) its how our agent worked it out so its cheaper..so right now itsa bout 700 every 6 months for that car.

what is the typical insurance costs for a 45 year old man with a good driving record for a LT1 4th gen? how about a 98 LS1?

if the LS1 isnt too bad i might get a 98-99 if i find an affordable one.(I have about 8k to spend and i ahve seen 98's for 8k)

right now my parents only make me pay for gas, but i wouldnt expect not to pay for a good portion of the insurance for the new car, i am just trying to see so i can figure my budget(i make about 150 a week at my part time job)

Well, put it this way buddy. I'm 22, and for full coverage, I'm paying about 1090 ever 6 months. It should be way lower for your dad. Plus, other guys are paying less than me for the same. Just gotta hunt the lowest out there for the same thing the company is offering.

No such thing as a "typical" rate, doesn't exist.

I'll be 46 later this year, clean record, last ticket was in 88 (speeding 65/55), no accidents, no DUIs or anything. I'm with Nationwide, full coverage, 100/300/100 coverage, $250 ded colision, $0 on comp. I pay roughly $900/year. And I still thing that is just tooooo much. BTW, I'm single (divorced) and no multi-car discounts applied here. I live in central Va, car is parked either on carport or in garage.

I'm 21 and I pay $95/month for the RS and about the same for the Berlinetta. The Berlinetta is on my dad's insurance, and the RS is in my name. I plan on changing the Berlinetta so they can be on my policiy, I am just so lazy lol.

I got a 93 z28 on my own policy cause my mom ran into a parking garage and caused something like 100,000 in property damage and then like 10,000 to our conversion van and that screwed up my chances on her policy. Im 16 and pay just around 250 a month with a good student discount
