How to remove Heater/AC diverter Box

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to remove the heater diverter box (the part behind the dash). Do you have to remove the heater box ( the part in the engine bay) to gain access to all the screws holding it on?

I thought had all the bolts removed, but it doesn't budge. maybe I'm missing one?

you are in for a big project. I took mine apart trying to figure out why the air only came out of the defrost and it was a hell of a time getting it apart. You have to take apart the center console, take out the insrument panel, your radio, and make sure that all the screws are taking apart all the way across the dash. When i put mine back together i didnt get it seated right, so now it is tweaked a little bit. but if your up for it it takes a while. good luck.

I finally did get it, what a pain in the butt is right.

Whoever designed it, needs to be shot.

Oh, lets put all the screws on the inside for easy access. Well all but one, let's screw that one in from the engine bay, then put the heater box on top of it so you don't know it's there!!

Luckily I was able to move the flap door and then reach my hand inside with a socket and get it loose with out removing the heater box in the engine bay. took forever, but glad i didn't have to remove that.

just ticked me off about that 1 screw!!
