Rubbing With New Rims!!! :(

Just put my new 18x9.5's on, with 285/40/18's. Anyways, I'm getting some mild rubbing on the sidewalls (I have stock shocks right now, so whenever it bottoms out it brushes).

How big of a spacer can I go with with the stock bolts? Maybe 1/2 inch?

Not sure, where can I find that? I just need them to maybe go out 1/2 inch, just to avoid the wheel wells (this is in the rear)

DO you have the link to the rims???? 1/2 is a bigggggggg spacer, you need to change out your wheel studs for it.

Ah, found it....57mm
These were it...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TWO-1...34705001QQrdZ1

All the spacers I saw on ebay were just new ones that had studs of their own on them, were 1" or greater..I don't need that much.

I did bend some of the wheel well out of the way, but when the car sinks it definitely rubs.

I could always have the guys at the metal shop at my base fabricate up some high-quality thin spacers out of aircraft sheet metal..only about 1/4 inch would be enough, you think I could still get away with using the stock studs if I do? I only need to kick this tire out a small bit.

I think these tires may have been 10in wide, they said 9.5 but I think he slipped up and sent me wider ones...not complaining or anything though lol.

+57 is just slightly lager then the largeest recomended +56, which ist bad. A 1/4" spacer should be fine, and you dont need longer studs.

DeliciousD, you may have solved it for me..I always wondered why it sagged on the pax side, I suppose it is the spare tire (don't worry, I'm bidding on new springs/shocks on ebay right now, the stockers gotta go)

I'll go ask the metal shop dudes to fab me some..I'll make a stencil from the inside of the rim and have em go from that...at least I'll know it's from good metal, F-15 Eagle grade at that
