Short Antenna

Who has a short antenna? Does it affect reception at all and how does it look? I really dont like the huge antenna on my car but I still need one on there. I'm probably going to get one off of eBay, has anyone dealt with indy-motorwerks before? Thanks for any help

I have a shorty antennae. Reception IS affected. Got mine from AutoZone. Just a universal Chevy one.

Thanks fellas!

Jim,I did that for the guy who owned the car before me,I plan on doing the interior a different color, same ebony leather and silver suede instead of the vinyl on the door panel,I was thinking it should be lower? the "z28"...or I was thinkin bout getting the old school "camaro" script and putting it where the Z28 is just lower..IDK yet.

I say stick with the Z28 and maybe a little farther back, but not lower.

I have a shorty antenna that I got from Matt, I haven't really noticed anything reception wise here locally and I wouldn't traveling wise since I have XM but I do listen to regular radio quite often here locally and have had no problems.

If you really don't want an antenna, Circuit City sells a replacement that goes inside the car - you just stick a small (3/4 x 3/4 x 3 approx) box to the top of the windshield behind/above the rearview mirror and run the wire behind the trim and around to the radio. It's invisible. However, you will lose a little reception with it.

Power antenna FTW. Very easy to install and not all that expensive to do. So yeah my antenna goes away lol

I have a shorty antenna, and yes it does make a difference in reception. I usually just hook up my iPod though, so I can't really tell.
