Was it one of those "Mox Nix" poles?
I was stationed in GE from '92-'96. American parts are outrageously priced overseas. It WILL cost you a bundle to fix...even to ship the parts from the states (especially for a large part like a body panel). My recommendation? Take the car back and part it out. I'm sure there are enough F-bods there (or throughout Europe) that may need parts. I'd bet that you could sell parts and make enough to afford another F-body once you return to the states.
