Alternator going bad?

this was extremely wierd. i was driving home tonight and my car had a "hick-up". it shut down while i was doing 40 and started right back up all within one second. i didnt have to start it... everything just dies and started again. my radio cut off and i had to turn it back on myself. i got to the next light... and every 4 seconds it did it again. off then right back on... like 10 times. then i drove home and it was fine... alternator? thanks

I wouldnt beat that its the alternator going bad. Check all the connections to the battery and alternator and make sure they are good. You have might have a loose one.

Yeah, possible loose connection but when ever in doubt, I'll take the car to auto zone and have them diagnois the charging system for free.

nah... no check engine light. i dont know if it would be the alternator because even if its goin bad i would still run off the battery for quite some time. yea i'll check all my connections to the battery and all that good stuff. maybe a wire has grounded out somewhere... like on the exhaust. but i would think i would immediately just blow a fuse... and i havent lost anything that i know if. so we'll see. i'll have to check everything out today

My friends TA did that but he didnt have a battery tie down and it would short out when the cable would flop around, might wanna trace ur cables and make sure they arent shorting out or burning thru some where....On his car is + cable was touching some metal and started to burn thru.
