Christmas Time!

I decided to keep the Z28 and my wife has been asking what i want for Christmas, soo I figured I would get something for the car. I already have air lid, k&n, flowmaster exhaust, taylor plug wires. What would be the best thing to get for it next and stay under $200????? I thought about either a short throw shifter or gears. What is yall's opinoin???

I'd go with bolt-on LCA relo brackets. You can do 'em yourself for right @ $100. Also go with SFCs. Both are a must if you're gonna do any kind of launching.

Lower Control Arm relocation brackets. Drops the geometry of your lower control arms which shifts the instant center of gravity during launches. This in turn helps prevent wheel hop and allows your tires to hook better.

Go to this link and email Ryan. UMI is one of our sponsors. Those are the kind I got and they're very easy to install. http://www.z28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83553

dont do gears...i took that path before my lt headers and i regret it....ur 3.42's arent that bad....trust me...gears are yes only 250, but the install costs anywhere from 250-500...on average round 400....then after that ur gonna have huge traction problem...soo bad that ur 1st gear will just spin till u shift bouncing off the rev limiter...so then what u buy dr's...300-500 bucks....and now u have to wrroy bout ur rear breaking...(2,000bucks)...gears weaken our 10 bolts crazy style, especially with dr's......trust me go with longtubes...you'll gain 20-25rwhp and with a tune near 40rwhp...wish i went that way cuz i'd have nitrous by now

Well if you need the cost of the part to be right around $200, 4.10's all the way. Your Z will love you for them. Mind you your Z28 probably has a 3.23 gear so it will be a very nice improvement. You will have to pay the install but its well worth it. Mind you after the accual gears you need an install kit w/ fluids, and a PCM reprogram to correct the speedo (hit up PCM4Less for that one). It adds up but the 5-6 tenths gained are well worth it. Plus the car will be a blast to drive.

in that case the 4.10's prob will be a decent way to go...but BEWARE!....the 10 bolt will quiver in fear. for its death is near lol

No good putting more power or bigger gears if you can't get the power to the ground. I'd do the LCA's and SFC's first.

Well gears for 200 dollars is possible... Its the 300 it cost to have them put in correctly (I mean having backlash and stuff set properly) so that the rear will hold longer.....

I would get a Tune from PCMforless.com

PM me... We have a special on them now for christmas!!!
