Fuel rail covers

fuel rail covers made for the corvette ls1 fit on our engines, but site sponsor umiperformance says they require slight modification

does anyone on here know what has to be done>?

i know ive seen a few people with the covers and ill hunt them down and ask in pm, but meanwhile, does anyone know what modification is necessary to get them to fit

if anyone is interested they are here:
http://www.umiperformance.com/2101.aspx
http://www.umiperformance.com/2102.aspx
note: they CANNOT be used with the slp stb, however bmr, and hotchkis will work

dont those black ones look shecksey?

They do take quite abit of trimming but its not too horrible.

Here is where to get the sick custom ones http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/fuel-rail-covers.html. I did a set and lid on a car and it looks sick.

Yeah, I like those Afterthoughts ones too, but I was quoted almost $500 for a set including the lid painted with the 35thLE stripes. There are a few mods I wanna do before I can afford those.

If your talking about me, I didn't have to trim anything (because all my emission stuff is gone) except make room for the dipstick.

My advice is if you want the black ones to pick up some 1997 peices. They already have a second slit in them for the return fuel line. With those, I only had to cut a slit for the throttle cable bracket and drill a hole for the dipstick. If you have an A4, you might have to trim the back pass. side for the transmission dipstick like I did.

on a side note (I don't want to hijack the thread)

How much would a used set of Fuel Rail Covers from a corvette cost?

What holds the suckers on?

What the heck do they mount to?

I have a set of Vette covers and they obviously don't want to fit onto the LS1 in my 98 Z28.

Somebody please post a 'how to'.
