I test drove a base model 07 c6 yesterday. Holy crap! That thing is fast. I would love to buy it if the insurance wasn't $7000!!!! I guess I should have listened to my parents when I was 16-20 hehe.

Yep, the regular Vette got allllmoooosttt the HP of the previous year Z06.

You can always tell when the marketing department doesn't think the car is going to sell on styling. When that's the case they come up with a big HP jump and sell them on HORSEPOWER.

The 2001 Z06 had 385 HP. 2002 had 405. THey never bumped the HP before the C6 came out becasue they sold every one they could make without adding HP.

The C6 Z06 price is waayyy on up there too. I paid 52K for my 2002 Z06.
That won't even make a good down payment on a C6 Z06 now.

That 427 is outrageous though. No matter WHAT it's installed in, I want one.
