Head Unit

Just wondering what you guys think would be a good single din cd player thats got all the goodies....not a dvd player or screen though..I currently have a Alpine 9815 which I love, but i think its time to buy a new one....just looking for some input. Im looking for something with good voltage on the pre-outs and at least a 5 or 7 band eq, crossover, time correction the display doesnt have to be flashy just sound good. I have components and rear fills and a sick 4 channel. Just seeing what you guys have to say..

Thanks

I have a clarion 785. It has amazing sound quality and puts out 6 volts!!!! that right 6 volt to the rca's and remote. This means super clear super clean sound for a reasonably priced unit. retail is around 320 if you know the right place you could get it for 200 like I got mine brand new. Just read up on the little stuff. There is a reason calrion has a name like it has, and its not just because it was the !#*!#*!#*!#* back in the day. It's because they are engineered with the little things most people wont notice with a crappy setup. just remember you get what you pay for.

6 volt pre-outs are pretty good... the remote is a 12 volt wire that just gets voltage when you turn the CD player on(sends the voltage signal to the amplifier)..... I dont think that Clarion would have the features I am looking for something like a new alpine CDA-9887...does anyone out there own this? i have also thought about the eclipse units....

Eclipse is great but SUPER pricey. I have a Pioneer. I LOVE it. I forget the part number though. I actually bought it at Wallyworld and its been one of the best radios ive ever owned. Sound quality is great, has all kinds of pre-out adjustments. HPF/LPF. Can be connected to a Bluetooth phone. USB to control IPOD from the radio. It just goes on and on. And at $220 bux its a STEAL!!!

BTW I hate the button layout on the alpines. This one is all touch activated. I'm getting one when things level off.
