New Speakers

I just got some new speakers for christmas and I wondering if I can just pull the old ones out and drop the new ones in. I have the bose system and was looking at the Audio FAQ sticky and it said I have to rewire everything which would be a complete PITA.

I got 4 speakers and I do believe there were wires in the speaker locations in the backseat. Anyone know about rewiring all the way to the head unit? Or if you have any advice that would be great.

Do you have the Bose 3 or 5 speakers system? My guess is the 3 speaker system. I personally would just rewire the speakers and dont use the rear speaker in the hatch. Just run new 16 gauge wire to the doors and to the sail panels ( where the grill cover pops off). There are converters you can buy to keep the bose amp I just think you will be happier with a rewire..

Alright, well I do have the 3 speaker setup... so I think I'm going to rewire then. What all will I have to do to rewire the speakers? My brother says I'll need to take off the door panels and possibly the rear quarter panels... I'm newb at wiring and stuff but I want to learn so what measures will I have to take to get to the wires?
