adding speakers

I have a 94 Z28 that came w/the bose sound system. Unfortunately the cheap that origionally ordered it from the factory selected the 3 speaker option instead of the 5 speaker option. what would I have to do to putspeakers into the speaker mounts that are on both sides of the rear seats? I think that ,if you have the 5 speaker option, they are 6x9's.

No Camaro came with 6x9's since '92. You DO NOT have 6x9's in your car. Your front doors and rear side speakers(next to rear seats) are 6.5's. The very rear speakers(if your BOSE came with'em) are generally 4x6's or 4in(sometimes vary). You can not just 'plug and play' new speakers in those back locations, for one, there will be no wiring back there, and two, the amp will not accept the speakers.

Honestly, if your system was not built for the 5/6 speaker setup out of the factory, then your only way to add speakers is to either go all aftermarket... which an aftermarket radio is only made to accept 4 speakers, so you'll need an aftermarket amp.

The only way I could see you 'cheating' it and adding speakers to those panels without replacing everything is to tag the front speaker wiring and run wiring back to those rear speaker locations, and wire it in series... and hope that the factory BOSE amp will still function properly.

It should be 6.5's all the way around depending on if it is the 3 speaker setup or the 5 speakers setup....The far back covers in the hatch just look like 6x9's because of how the grill is made....They are 6.5's in an amplified enclosure...If it were me I would delete the bose system and run a 4 channel with some good front components and some rear fills, and it will sound a lot better than bose.

Not everyone is as serious about Car Audio as us... depends on his budget.
