Bose Speakers !!!!

I have a 95 z28 with stock Delco/ Bose system and i was wondering if Bose made anyother car audio speakers. I waned to upgrade my stock Bose speakers to better Bose speakers. Anyone know wher i can find them ?

Bose has to be the most over priced speaker in the world.

Fork out the money and buy aftermarket speakers and a sub. Like mstereo said, they're expensive. Give the dealer a call just to get an idea on how much a stock speaker setup goes for.

i hate the bose system. it was good quality....when the volume was very very low.

I dont want stock. I was just wondering if Bose made after market speakers. I thought they hit pretty hard for stock speakers. Even my friends asked me if i had a system put in and i was like no its stock. I know they are expensive but if they made after market speakers id buy them. Their loud and they will last a long time. Consumer reports tested the quality of their speakers against other companies like pioneer which is very good, and Bose took first. I know they only mke that home speaker thing but their quality in speakers is excellent.

Dealers charge way too much. I wanted a new fog light = $120 bucks. New starter would run me $280 bucks only if i handed in the core. Which i couldn'tsince my starter is from a 96' 5.7L Caprice. So that was an extra $40 without the core. So i would end up paying $320 for a starter. Yea right !

I agree with mstero, bose is extemely overpriced for the quailty of the speakers. That was the first thing ripped out of my Z when I brought it home. Although I have to give credit for the sub, it did put out alot of base for its size, but that was only at a low volume. Even the home stereo is overpriced for Bose speakers. A buddy of mine has two bookshelf bose in his house and my pioneers beat the bose by far and were half the price. Some of the best sound quality I heard out of car speakers would have to be pioneer and alpine. As far as home audio, the best system I ever heard was a Klipsch. Simple magnificent! Hit every not with true power an NO distortion.

So what kind os system do ya'll recomend?

I have the stock speakers, but a kenwood CD player (installed by previous owner).

It crakels and pops all the time so i know he messed something up. Possibly the harnes he used, i dunno.

But i wanna replace the ENTIRE system with something that really kicks A$$. Any ideas??? Brands, sizes, BASS, and a head unit. oh, amp too!

My friend bought a new brand called "Audio pipe" for subs. These are competition but the insulating foam was about a 1 1/2 think. They hit hard. Id try a brand name thats been around alot longer.

MOMO makes speakers ? Thats comedy. Shifters, Steering Wheels........and now subs. Good quality steering wheels and seats but i dont know about subs.

Kind of a side note for fellow Z members.
I just took in on trade a very cool motorized 3 way 10" JL fiberglass box made for the well in 1993 and up Camaro's and Firebirds. It has no speakers in it, but has everything needed for mounting and motorization. I thought before I throw it up on Ebay, I'd see if any of you would be interested. Email me if youwould like to see the pic's.

BOSE is something that you were told as a kid was the end all to be all, kind of like BETA versus VHS in the 80's, only some how BOSE is still around,obviously something went wrong.

well when you compare BOSE to PIONEER than how good of a speaker can if really be. LOL I had the bose system in my car. It was a good system for STOCK. And that is exactly what it is STOCK stereo. But it lacks alot agianst a REAL stereo. Get some infinity's now they make good stuff, or polk audio makes good stuff to from what i have been told too.

alright now -you guys will boo me ,but i swear my 94 z has the stock system and and i get asked all the time if i put a high priced one in -those bose speckers sound damn good for ten years old and the only thing i will do one day is upgrade to cd .im still kinda stuck in the past ,i have so many 80s metal tapes i would hate to get cds to repl them lol .nothing sounds better when cruising around with the tops off listening to def leppard or motly crue .rock on dudes!!!!!!

I have the Bose in my 93z as well. The radio seems to play louder then the cd does. At low to mid volume I say its the best stereo I have ever heard. But, the second you turn it to max volume it just never gets loud enough. Drive on the highway with the windows down and see how little music you hear. If you have a aftermarket exhaust forget it. You will not hear a thing with the windows down. I agree with most of you. The Bose system is great for stock but it cannot match the aftermarkets when there installed correctly. I looked into adding a amp or upgrading my Bose system. YOU CAN'T. Because of the amps and speakers that they come with you cannot add to them. I kept the Bose system because I want the car to look totally stock. If you want tunes and don't care about the stock apperance....tear it out and start from scratch.
