Question???

I was just wondering how much nitrous I could put on my basically stock lt1 without blowing it up. I would plan to put a full throttle switch on my car but i dont want to get on it one day and have my car blow up in my face if you know what i mean. lol. But ya any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

ive seen anywhere from 25-250 shots ran on stock motors. I personally wouldnt go more than 100 shot depending on ur mileage.

175 is as high as I'd go. The stock pistons are actually pretty awesome, they can take some abuse.

My advice is to stay at 150 shot or under on stock bottom end.

I put a 150 shot on a stock bottom end LT1 and it is still holding after two bottles. But, I'm with Tony on this, stay under 150 if you want to save the motor. A 100 shot is plenty if you just want to hit it on the street and put the 150's in at the track.

Thanks for all the advice. Ill prolly end up putting a 100 shot on. I was thinking that I could only get maybe a 75 shot but if what you guys are sayin is right I'll be happy with a 100 shot for now.

I have seen 100 shot cars run for a very long time on the stock setup with no problems.

Stick with 100-125 on a stock motor and you will be fine. The computer can usually compensate the timing with that size of a shot without having to buy a system to retard your timing externally. I would opt for some cooler plugs though and what kind of nitrous kit are you looking for (wet or dry)?

Ill probably gat a dry system. Mainly cause they're cheaper and easier to install. I have Bosch iridium plugs right now, but if you think I need better ones just tell me the brand and I'll check them out.

I think the NGK TR6's is what all the N20 guys are running. Click the link below for a lot of nitrous pages here on the site.
