why does the whole marketplace section show up sometimes and not others?

Not sure Im following what your saying? It always shows the whole section for me.

are you clicking that little button on the side that hides the section (collapses it for a better term)?

Or it could be that you are not logged in all the time, it did that to me sometimes too.
