Paging Florida Peeps

I might be trying for a job in Coleman, Florida, which is a little above Orlando, off I-75.

Does anyone have any info on what kind of community it is to live in?
My wife and I would be wanting the area to have shopping center(s) and good restaraunts. How far is it to Orlando?

Also, what would be the better (safer) areas to buy a house in or near Coleman? Looking for no more than a 30 minute drive from Southern part of Coleman.

Well, the move was from Hawaii so she is closer. Central Florida is about as far away from "home" as she's willing to move.

^^ Yea. I see that southern part of Ocala is only 30 minutes driving time away, which isn't too bad.

What's Ocala like for things to do and restaraunts, shopping malls, etc?

Well it is extremely diverse. Lots of wealth on one end, lots of crackheads on the other. The rural areas are all nice depending and VERY cheap to live in. On top of that its only like 45min to an hour from here

There is a mall and all the restaurants you could want/need. It is still growing, not a metropolis but about twice the size of Gainesville and the biggest thing around besides Orlando.

I just google earthed it again, it has been awhile since I was in that neck of the woods. There are a buncha small communities in that area, some of the are old "civil war era" with tree lined avenues and absolutelyy stunning. Then you have the worlds largest Flea Market and swap meet in Webster just a short piece away. If it were me I would look around in those areas to settle down instead of OCALA. It is not a far jump to anything from there. You could be at Lou's place in an hour, mine in an hour and at Mickey Mouses in less than an hour. I hope you like to fish cuz there is plenty of GRADE A WORLD CLASS fishing in that area.

Nice area, quiet compared to Tampa or Orlando.

I will be at Webster selling stuff/promoting my business on Sunday. GREAT swap meet.

National Parts Depot is in Ocala as well and of course the strip in G'Ville.
