1994 Z28 performance mods

I just purchased a 1994 Z28. Want any advice on performance mods to engine: want to build a 350-400 HP street engine. Can I achieve this without changing internal engine parts and, if so, what do I need to do? I have already decided to do a cat back exhaust, air intake kit, 52mm or 58 mm throttle body, larger mass air flow sensor. How about larger fuel rails? or larger injectors? Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks, Bob.

Bob do you have an a4 (auto) or m6 (6 speed)? First thing I would do is CAI (cold air induction) Moroso, SLP, or K&N. After that I would do the throttle body bypass free mod. Then I would look into better gearing 3:73's if a4, 4:10's if m6. Next consider a good Cat back exhaust, y-pipe, high flow or no cats, and some shorty headers. Then I would consider a new throttle body. After that pcmforless should be able to whip up a nice chip for you. If you don't daily drive her and only race I would look into a torque converter 2500 rpm up to 3200 rpm. I think it will be pretty tough to get 75-125 extra hp from just bolt ons without touching internals. But those should put you into the low 13's or high 12's depending on traction. If you want to do it cheap use Nitrous. Skip all of the above and drop in a 100-125 shot from NX or another top brand. You don't have to be on it all the time just when you need the extra punch. Nitrous is safe if used in moderation. Just make sure you take all the precautions.

Yes 350-400HP LT1 is very possible, but you forgot to
mention rear-wheel or total. If your just talking Flwheel
power, go with boring your stock throttle body to 52mm,
port your stock MAF,a Hi-Flow intake elbow along with
a Moroso CAI kit, relocate your IAT sensor to the CAI,
Crank pulley,Crane 1.6 rockers,Crane Fireball ignition &
coil,160 F thermostat,electric water pump and don't
forget the Long Tube headers -- there a must when
wanting to make that kind of power.
And last but not least, a custom PCM Program from a
good manufacturer (PCM for less, F.A.S.T etc.)

Those number are kind of stretching it without internal modifications. You might have to consider it, unless you want to supercharge it.
