If you can get a good stroke on your shifter, you can do what I do with my bike. When you are in first, taking off, you will not be able to pull it out of first cause of the torque. when the car hits the limiter, it lets off of the torque for a split second. This is the same thing that I do in my bike. you don't close the throttle, so you don't lose velocity. When it hits the limiter, you will already be pulling (or pushing) into the next gear and you should hit it every time.

I think I understand what you are saying, When racing my R1 I don't use the clutch execpt for the 1-2 shift but for 3, 4, 5 I just lift up and it goes right in.
In my car with the Centerforce it will not allow me to pull it into the next gear until the clutch is pressed in just a little bit, I have been shifting around 5900rpm right now, I have a cam and 918 springs in it so i will turn a little more RPM with it once I get the tunner to raise my Rev Limiter to 6500. But it will let me pull it out of 1st in to 2nd real easily with just bumping the clutch pedal for just a brief second. It was when I was letting off the throttle it would TQ up so much that it would not go into 2nd

When I took my bike to the track, I only use the clutch to get off the line. I run it out in first and when it hits the limiter (with my foot pulling up on the shifter) it will go into second. even with my R6, you have to be careful of the 1-2 shift and with your R1, even more so.
I didn't know if it would work with the car. I race with an auto so I don't know much about the M6's.

Not totally disagreeing with you Tony but truly you never want to hit the limiter in a car. It slows you down tremendously not to mention pulls timing out.

I forgot all about the timing
Like I said, I use an auto so I don't really know. I just know what I have done on my bike. But, it's tuned to shift like that too, so it's a different world. It's looking like I have taken too much time off from working on these cars lol. I seem to be getting a lot of stuff wrong here lately.

Tony was right about shifting a bike through, the only thing I thought was a little off, and it my just be mine, I use the clutch to take off but I also have to use it for the 1-2 shift because mine wants to hang up in N in between and not go into 2nd.

Powershifting and speed shifting is not too much of a bad thing but it does put added wear and tear on parts for the minimal gain you might be getting. Yeah if your racing for money or points in a drag series and racing someone you just might edge out in a tenth by all means its necessary but when your doing it for fun and your only going to gain maybe a tenth on your time.......well sometimes it might not be necessary lol.

Speaking of unecessary, I just got a tour of the inside of Lingenfelter a little bit ago and seen 2 of the new Camaro getting the 800hp package. Its crazy all the goodies they have in there, Vipers, Corvettes. I even got to see one of the new Z06's with a massive head and cam setup make a pull, and man that thing sounded sick!!!

My buddy just had Lingenfelter build up a nasty turbo motor for his WS6. We are trying to get the break in miles on it so he can get he real tune in her and crank up the boost! They claimed to be around 800-850rwhp with the 26-28psi his turbo is good for
