Well it has a lot to do with altitude and what all is done to the car. Here a stock LT1 usually runs in the 9.2ish range in the 1/8 mile.

2.1 with heads and cam is kinda slow IMO. What do you have as far as suspension?

a little slow. whats the duration and LSA on the cam? Are you an auto or manual? plus your 60ft is gonna hurt your 1/8th mile times. was it a 1/4 mile track or just 1/8th?

post up the slip

It's slow, but your 60' is slow so that may be why. I usually get 8.0x in the 1/8. I have a few in the 7.9x. But then again my 60' are in the 1.7x range.

A tenth at 60' is a lot on the big end.

Hey man 8.6 is outstanding!

Given the Mods ya listed, you're in the groove... you're hurting down low.

2.1 on streets indicates the driver mod needs some track time. You should be able to develope a technique to get the 60' down to mid-low 1.9s... which will put the same pass at 8.5.

DRs or ETs and you should pick up a couple of tenths immediately. So... you're $400 from 8.4s.

Thanks for sharin' and keep us posted on the progress.

You are about right on the money with your setup.
Your big letdown is in the 60' dept. as a 2.1 60' will kill your ET.
Even a 3500 stall converter will probably cut .5 off your ET with some drag radials.
I have a very similar setup and my 95 ran 8.57 @ 86mph in the 1/8th. My best 60' was a poor 2.08 WITH drag radials. No spin off the line leaving out of the hole at idle and mashing the throttle. No doubt I can use a converter too. In a case I read about with similar a MPH to mine they cut .7 off their ET with only a converter change. This kind of tells me where both our problems are in relation to drag strip ET.
My big fear woud be snapping that rear if I put that kind of launch on that puny 7.5.

I have a 97Z with LT Pacesetters, OFY, and CAI and I'm running consistant 8.70's in an auto with 2.0 60's. I'm also only pulling 80mph tops though 79 normally. So I would think with that much more work the car should still be running faster than that. Your 60's are def. killing you bad though. If you didn't spin any off the line then street slicks won't help you much at all if any. As long as your not spinning then you will be fine. What you need to do is take some white window chalk and mark your sidewall on the tire and have someone watch the tire when you take off. If it goes into an instant blur then you know that your spinning but if it takes off nice and smooth and gradually increases then you don't have a problem with traction.

A 3000-3500 converter will get you in the area you are looking at, if you have the traction to match.
