Hi folks. As the name says, I am currently a 2003 Nissan 350Z owner. I am not here on this board to flame anybody, or to be a troll. I'm just here to clear up any confusion in this thread. It sounds to me that the thread originator ran against a supercharged Z. The Z makes 287 hp @ 6200 rpm and 274 lb/ft @ 4800 rpm from a naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6. A stock 0-60 mph time would be about 5.5-5.8 sec, and the 1/4 goes in somewhere around 13.5-14.5, obviously very much depending on the driver. I've never been to a strip, so am only going by what other drivers or magazines have put up.

Currently, there is no factory turbo for the Z. Someday, I hope to see it, but there are no published plans for it. There is also no production ready aftermarket turbo kit. Power Enterprise and GReddy are working on kits, but neither is expected out until the fall or winter. There are two supercharger kits. The Stillen one requires a new hood with a noticeable hump, or a cut out hood scoop so that the hood can close on the Eaton style supercharger. HP outputs have been disappointing, giving about 50-60 wheel hp. ATI (Procharger) also makes a centrifugal kit. This kit requires no hood modification as it essentially sits where the factory airbox is. It is noticeably louder (more whine) than the Stillen kit, but it also puts out a lot more power. People have been getting about 350 hp at the wheels, compared to a stock number of about 240. I do not know of a true 1/4 mile time with either supercharger, but I would guess it to be about 12.5 seconds. Again, that is really a very uneducated guess.

So, nice forum, nice cars. Again, I'm just here to clear up some confusion. It does sound like you ran a supercharged Z.

Have a nice day.

350Z Owner

By the way you guys should be ashamed of your selves for getting blown away by the new Z. They have 290 horse by the way but almost no torque. I have never seen a fast one at the track. I have seen a turbo installed and running on one though. It was no prototype. It was installed by Stillen. Not sure of the brand.
z28killer is just pissed cuz he gets stroked by camaros all day long. He's prolly one of those pole smoking mustang drivers or he has a civic with a fart can that has to have a v8 push it down the quarter mile......

The 350z is a bad ass car. Theres no turbo though, only the NA 6 cyclinder. Alot of magazines have dubbed the Vq the best 6 cyclinder every tested.

It makes 287 hp in the 350z naturally aspirated. The 350z is heavier than most cars in its class but I know that it does way under 3500 lbs.

It makes a heck of alot of torque for a v6, plus it comes with a 6 speed.

The Nissan Z should run 14.0 all day long with a descent driver. I think some people have gotten high 13s out of em stock. Basicly light, 287 hp, 6 speed rwd is a pretty fierce combination.

GReddy has a twin turbo kit. Only runs 5 pounds of boost, it bumped the Z up to 350 whp and mid 12s in the 1320.

Not bad at all.

I saw a 350z in a parking lot at a movie theatre once and it looked nice and I've heard there quick so I give it a thumbs up. What I don't like is people who come into forums with alot of bs and frustrations because they get smoked all the time in there ricer car like z28killer and tell everyone there "gold chain wearing dorks". Now who but a guy that drives a rice car uses the word "dorks"? I think people like that should spend less time telling people they are "dorks"(lol) and go out and work so they can afford a real car not a suped up riding lawnmover.

Do you enjoy driving your car?

It doesnt matter if you drive a LT1 or a LS1, they are both sweet cars.

As for the z28killer, you are on this site because??? 13.6 is respectible, if that really is your best time. I do like the z24killer or maybe it should be something long like stockA4z28killer but do you consider .2 secs a kill in a race? I dont!

just because you have a ls1 talk chit about the lt1 . I haven't done any heads/cam modification but with the mods that I have if you ls1 is stock i'm going to beat you pretty bad. I smoked a stock c5 and i don't care if u don't believe me. I know the ls1 is better than the lt1 but with some mods I can take any stock ls1.

Just to be technical a bone stock 2000 Z28 dynoed at 302rwhp (check the royal purple video). While a bone stock LT1 Z28 will probably dyno at about 220ish rwhp. So just put that into perspective when comparing the two.

LT1 vs LS1

I have owned three LT1 powered Camaros, and I now own a SS with the awesome LS1! Stock to stock, mods to mods, the LS1 will kick an LT1's A**!

Trust me on this one.

I hear talk of the LT1 having better lower end torque. Sorry, the dyno don't lie.

300 ftlbs of torque at 2500rpm! AT THE REAR WHEELS!

Never seen a stock LT1 put that down.

Don't get me wrong the LT1 is a awesome motor, But comparing apples to apples, I have to go to with the LS1.
