So what do you mean by not many mods?
ive beaten a 98 auto ls1 t/a not ws6....with exhaust, intake, n headers....so unless this falls into the minor mod category, im not sure what ur talkin bout? another thing a lt1 is bout 40-50 rwhp away from a ls1 stock.....there right in each others category, dunno maybe u raced a lot of non-modded lt1's but there are a lot out there that put ls1's to shame with bolt on's.....

Trust me on this one.

I hear talk of the LT1 having better lower end torque. Sorry, the dyno don't lie.
well if u put full bolt on's on a lt1 and thEn put identical bolt ons on a ls1....YES UR RIGHT a ls1 will be puttin down wayyy better numbers....WHY??...BECAUSE THE LS1'S HEADS OUTFLOW THE LT1'S CRAZY STYLE...reason being why ls1's powerband is up top and the pull crazy on the lt1....HOWEVER u take a ls1 and a lt1 both stock AND INSTALL THE SAME HEADS AND CAM ON EACH ONE AS FAR AS LIFT GOES AND ETC. AND THEIR NUMBERS ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL....LOOK IT UP...THE LS1 HAS A LIL MORE, LIKE 10-15 MORE RWHP BUT THATS IT.....its just that ls1 owners dont run into to many lt1's with a h/c install but if there were more out there, WELL than u guys wouldnt be bashin on lt1's....BECAUSE being a lt1 owner, ive taken a few ls1's in my time, as i am not stock.... AND they are phenomenal cars....BUT ITS NUTTIN A LT1 CANT TAKE WITH A FEW MODS(basically ur engines have got an advantage with their stock heads, but when u fix whats wrong with the lt1,(heads) well then that advantage is even and the cars perform the same) ...with aftermarket heads on the ls1 as well that is.........

Midnite, lets forget numbers for a second. Have you ever heard the expression "A 400 horsepower supra is the same as an 800 horsepower supra"? Patrick taught me that one. Just because a stock LT1 is only 40-50 HP behind an LS1, that doesnt mean everything man. Boltons arent gonna win the world.

oh i know, im just replyin to that one guys post cuz he made it sound like lt1's are like civics.. compared to ls1's and i was just statin that the real big power difference between a stock lt1 and a stock ls1 is due to the superiority of the ls1 heads compared to the lt1 heads...reason being why ls1's that have bolt on's put down more hp than lt1's with the same bolt on's.... thats bout it, but yeah dude how old is this thread newayz??...peace out
