SS State Trooper Squad Car

all im gonna say is dont mess with Texas...well dont speed in texas...My neighbor is State trooper and his car is not a z28, but a 01 SS! i find out later Texas uses a very small number 2000 and 2001 SS in their fleet. I must say its a fine piece of work. I thought it was a fake or a promotional car, but he has his fellow troopers stop by all the time in their cars too. me and him were talking about it one day and i took a good look at it. They are Black with a White hood and rear hatch and fully marked. also the passenger seat is removed, and replaced with a lap top computer set up and a gun rack with 3 diffrent types of shotguns, and for the finishing touch, a mounting place for a cowboy hat. I dont know what kind of mods it comes with if any. But is a fully loaded SS with a A4 and leather. There is just one thing completly uniqe about this vehicle. They are SS HARDTOPS built only for law enforcement...Only state that i know of that uses SS in their squad along with Z28's... VAROOM

California got the last 71 Z28s off the assembly line. They are bad. 14 point cages, 5 point harnesses, modified seats, shocks, etc...

N.C.H.P. USES THE 'Z/28' AS WELL. I TOW FOR A LIVING AND HAD THE CHANCE TO 'EXAMINE' ONE OF THESE '01'S RIGHT OFF THE TEST BED. ONLY SENIOR TROOPERS GOT THEM AND HAD TO TEST @ FRANKLIN COUNTY N.C. BEFORE THEY WERE ISSUED. MOST COUNTIES ONLY GOT ONE,WE WERE LUCKY TO GET 2 HERE.
THEY RAN 168 MPH IN THE HIGH SPEED RUN. TROOPER THURSTON STOPPED BY HERE TO CHECK ON MY '69 CAMARO PROJECT,AND WE SPENT SOME TIME LOOKING OVER HIS UNIT. THEY KEPT THE PASS SEAT,BUT ADDED LAPTOP,GUNRACK,RADIOS....AND HIS MAIN CONCERN IS TRYING TO STUFF A SUBJECT IN THE FRONT FOR TRANSPORT AS SPACE IS VERY LIMITED. THESE CARS ARE BLACK,WITH SILVER BOTTOM,AND FULL N.C.H.P. GRAPHICS.
I ONLY WISH I COULD AFFORD TO BID ON ONE AFTER THEY DECIDE TO RETIRE THEM-PROBABLY @ 80,000 MILES OR SO.
HE CLAIMS THE CAR PULLS SMOOTH ALL THE WAY TO REDLINE,WITH A FEEL OF COMFORT AND CONFIDENCE.
HE SEEMS TO BE HAPPIER THEN WHEN HE DROVE HIS CROWN VIC,
AND IS HUNTING A 1ST GENERATION CAR FOR PERSONAL USE.
SOME COPS ARE COOLER THAN OTHERS. IF YOU COME CRUISING THRU I-40 IN EASTERN N.C. KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN,AS 85 MPH,AND UP WILL GET HIS ATTENTION,AND YOU WILL END UP IN FRONT OF A MAGISTRATE PER THE NEW LAWS.(15MPH&OVER)=ARREST ON THE SPOT!

Greg96Z aint lying. A whole line of about 10 Z28 and SS State troopers flew by me while driving home from the airport. I raced a little to keep up and the lead cop car officer just laughed and sped the convoy up. I did not want to push my luck. Already doing 15 mph over (85mph) in a 70 mph.

Just to let ya'll know....in a little town north of Nashville Tn called White House ....the police force there does have a "Z". I think it's a 95 but I'm not sure. It's black w/ yellow flames on the front. It's a D.A.R.E car and on the rear bumper it says that it was seized from a multiple DUI offender. They used to drive it but they don't anymore for some reason.

Goodletsville Tn has a Rustang as a patrol car but who cares about a damned ole Rustang, Right?!!?

Here in Charleston, S.C. there are three Z28 police cars. They always wave to me whenever I pass them. The officers that drive them are really nice, and they even let me check out his car one day when I saw him in a parking lot. OHHH BABY!!! There is also another Z28 undercover cop that catches a lot of people flying up on him not expecting anything. HAHAHA...I laugh my ass off at those damn Ricers. The cops also have three "Pursuit Only" 5.0 Mustangs with manual transmissions. Guess they use those Mustangs because it doesn't really matter if you mess it up.

naaaaaa its that the police is really smart when it comes to high speed pursuits so they use the fastest cars not the slowest ones that always break down hahah jj i dunno but id like to get one of those police z's too.
