Well Lethal, I ran an 03 Cobra

I was sitting talking to a guy in a 01 Z28 at about ten at night when a guy pulls in with a reddish 03 cobra. Nice car it was completely stock minus a catback and he only had 17K miles on it. I begged him to race because everyone thinks so highly of them.
We did a 60-120 roll. By the time we shut down his rear bumper was right at my front bumper, so about a car length. I was po'd because my car is running so rich right now its not even funny... I really think I could have faired al little better. Anyways I got the guys number and asked him to race again once I get 4:10's in it. I swear I will film it next time. My girlfriend told me to take the camera that night too but did I listen? nooo. OH YEAH!! it is worth noting...I had my 180lb brother in the car and he had no one in his. When I asked him what he ran at the track he said his best time was 13 flat.

Bottom line: nice car, good race, cool guy.

I didn't win...he got me. I could have gotten him from a dead stop though...he could'nt drive

Oh and thanks for the advice stick, but I have a true SS...which means I already have a functional ram air hood with SLP Lid and K and N filter...much better than CAI

if you have 4.10s then doint race to 120 because with the 4.10s your launches will be faster, but racing to 120 will give him more than enough time to real you in. Race from like speedlimit to 90 or something. You may like the outcome a lot better. And when you see him, slap him across the face with a fish and tell him I said to learn how to launch! LOL. Anyways, nice run none the less.

Nice job staying so close to a 390hp car

But I have heard conflicting opinions on the ram air hood. Some say that CAI is better, some say ram air, and some say they are equal.

Ok hold on...you think a 13.0 second car is going to real me in if we race to 120? From 60 -120 he pulled one car length and I have 3:42's? I think I should get him being next to stock with 4:10's and minus my 180lb passenger...regardless of how we start..dead stop..roll...Just my opinion.
Also, I'm running close if not over 390 horse myself...the gearing he has helped out alot since cobras have 4:60's I believe?

Oh and I will slap him with the fish

Besides a 55 or 65 - 90 run? That takes what like 2 or 3 seconds? Thats not a race! Thats passing. I will give you cobra guys props! They are fast cars...and have the potential to be even faster...but a modded LS car against a stock cobra? Willpower is no match for horsepower

do u have a h/c package we dont know about? because if you dont, i dont see you at 390hp....what all do you have and do you have dyno numbers or anything??

even if u got a GENEROUS stock dyno of 330...full exhaust is worth 20-25 and ur pullies worth 10 at the most thats 360-65 if you were a factory freak. i think your closer to 340-350 w/ all ur mods. but i could be wrong.

Cobras are easily 12 sec cars. I think high to mid 12's. Even still, you did really godd keeping him to your bumper. good race...

no doubt it was a good race. but give respect where its due. took u full exhaust/pulleys to keep up. all he woulda needed was a few hundered if that, in pulleys and wha la! now u need h/c and a 100 shot to keep up lol

either way sounds like it was a good time, but dont feel ashamed to lose to a s/c cobra. they are b/a rides.

i would have to agree, i think u r sitting at 340-350 hp with urs mods listed, unless u have an upgraded cam and intake manifold. those 03 corbas are no joke. i think if u get those gears it for sure will be a drivers race from a get go. but if u want a for sure win u need to upgrade ur engine, maybe throw in a cam to beef up the hp 30-40 hp
