which lowering kit?

ok so i've been wanting to lower my iroc for sometime now. and i was looking through ebay and i saw this yellow iroc that had a 2 inch drop and i was thinking to myself that thats the ride hight that i want my camaro at. i was trying to find kits that lowered 2 inches but couldnt find any. what kit do you guys think i should get that lowers my car 2 inches? i was thinking Bilstein or Eibach but they only lower 1.5

I know the guys who sell kits argue not to cut springs, but if Chip Foose does it (saw that on one of the 'overhaulin' cars he did) then it would be something I'd give a try....what is the worst that can happen, mess up and have to buy the kit? Sure would save a few bucks for something else...I am no pro, but watch them and try to learn a thing or 2...

If you have a side grinder with a cut off wheel, you can use that. Works fast enough so that the metal doesn't get hot and affect the temper of the spring.
How much are you looking to spend in total?

just don't use a torch . BTW I think you would be more than happy with the 1.5" drop ... It's DAM low ... you will be dodgeing manhole covers everywhere . Myselof ...don't wanna lower it jack ... already low enough IMO ( I Might if I had some 18" wheels)

You could always order a set of springs and weight jacks...that way you can set it at ride height you want.

im lookin to spend somewhere around like 500 maybe, i was lookin at jegs and Eibach makes a set that goes F 1.6" and R 1.3", they also showed a pic of a mustang with its stock ride height and then the height with that set of springs on. its only 256 bucks so idk, i might jus cut my old ones

Just make sure that you get shocks/struts that are designed to be on a lowered car. Monroes, Gabriels, etc won't cut it for long. The high end Tokicos, KONIs, and revavled Bilsteins (if Sam revavles 3rd gens Bilsteins) will be best. You can get the Eibach Pro-Kit from eBay cheaper than that. Just fon't get the SportLines or you'll be riding on the bumpstops....which isn't good at all.

Intrax sells a 2 inch lowering spring. My friend has it on his car. Here's a picture. Adam :-)

You know what the spring rates are on there? It's not just about getting the car down, it's making it work at whatever ride height you get it to. Too soft and it will handle, ride, and perform like crap. (not nocking the Intrax, cause I don't know about them, I'm just saying to worry about the whole package, not just the look)
