I just go new leafs on my 69 camaro and I upgraded from mono to multi. I had diff shackels with the mono to jack up the rear end to fit biger tires under. The problem is the car sits to low now after putting the multi leaf converson on. how cam i jack the rear of the car put a little so when the suspension compresses it don't hit the tire? thanks

did you put the shackels back on? i did the switch on our 68 and didnt have any problems. you might be able to take the springs to a spring shop and have them put a little arch in to them. ive seen my buddies do this to thier race car springs.

Springs will lose some curve over time, so if you didn't buy new springs, you probably lost a couple inches of ride height. When you say you don't have stock tires, what do you mean? The original tires would have had a ride height of about 26.5 inches....What size are you running? Mine are 235/45-17's and are ever so slightly shorter than stock.

It's been a while since I looked at my numbers...
My tires are 25.3, while yours are 26.6. That's only about half an inch radius difference.. Do you have any inside clearance issues? (Rubbing the inside of the wheel well) The only people I've seen that can run tires that fat have done mini-tubs.....

There's your problem...You car looks low because your tires stick out too far. You need tires that will fit under the car. There's plenty of room underneath for tires up to about a 255/265 with the right offset. I'm trying to get mine as low as possible. The lower the better the handling will be......

If you still want the "old School" look then put the longer shackels back on, or you could go the air shock route.

A 295 50 15 is a pretty meaty tire for the rear of a stock 1st gen with a ralleye wheel. You can pull that tire off, but with the right offset rim.

Have you tried a set of air shocks? I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious as to how you made out with this problem.
