slp level one upgrade

looking to upgrade the handling of my car before i add any more power. only suspension work done is tubular LCA's. found a guy locally selling SLP level one springs, shocks, and sway bars for $50 a set. wondering if that's a worthwhile upgrade from stock? (2000 trans am non ram air)

also i've heard it can lower the car up to an inch. will this require a new panhard bar, lcarb's, any type of camber adjustment required?

i'm kind of new to suspension...

well it's the "level one" option from the firehawk. it has progressive springs and thicker sway bars. i think it's the same suspension that came on the ss.

$50 a set? One Bilstein shock is worth more than that-

ZO6 cam and springs- 332 RWHP and 346 RWTQ- not bad for almost stock. There goes the "stealth" theory.... "Older, not SSlower" Curmudgeon in Residence

If its $50 for the whole thing, jump on it for sure. I know the Bilstein and springs setup that is an SLP option is listed as a $995 option on my dad's 96 SS. It gives it a really nice stance too, heres a pic of what the ride height is like, although it might be the level two suspension, I will have to check tomorrow to know for sure.

that's a very nice car. from what i've read only the level 2 slp upgrade includes bilsteins but the ad says that they are yellow bilsteins. either way it's a steal. suspension stuff is soooo expensive and this is the only way i'm ever gonna get it done so i think i'm gonna just go pick this stuff up. worst comes to worst i'll sell it for more than i bought it for and call it a day.

how many miles on the shox...it would bite to have to go back in there and do it again if the bilsteins are shot. just a thought from someone who spent 8 hours doing the work.

I'd install the sway bars if they are larger and the springs if they are stiffer, then order some KONI adjustables!
