Lowering Springs
http://www.gripmotorsports.com/pi~pn...maro-8994.html
I found dropzone lowering springs on that site^^. They are $121, is it a good price for 1.8" in the rear and front? I have no clue? Is it even worth the money or do I need to invest more?? I drive my car 100-200 miles a week. Who has lowered their camaro here??

you should roll the fenders anyway to be safe.

I have Hotchkis 1" lowering springs on all four corners of my SS, and i didn't need new shocks and it still rides amazing. Try looking into those. They are a bit more pricey, but overall worth it in my opinion.

I'm lowered with the prokit...on 18's so,no 17's arent the biggest you can go....I havent rolled the fenders, dont plan too, never hit the tire and I've bottomed out on hte bump stops a few times,so I dont think I'll be hitting the tires if I didnt then.....and some people dont change the shocks, and think it still rides good so whatever,BUT they will wear ALOT faster, because an OE replacment isnt valved for a lowered ride height, and they will bottom out alot easier.
If I was you I'd contact sam strano at stranoperformance....and get his lowering springs and custom valved shocks....unless price isnt an issue then I'd get adj. konis |

If I Have lower controll arms already and I do a drop will I need to replace them with shorter ones? Looking at a 1.8" drop, and not sure on shocks yet either.

If you lower the car, you won't need different control arms, although an adjustable PHB and LCA relocation brackets are a good idea. You will, however, 'need' new shocks. Despite what the manufacturer and the uninformed say, the lowered ride height and increased spring rates make short work of the stock shocks (or OER shocks) of about any car, especially with many miles on them. The best choices are KONIs, revalved Bilsteins. Other choices are Tokicos and KYBs.

I've got Stranos springs and Koni SA shocks. I run a 275/40/17 wheel and tire package and I only get minimal inner fender rubbing when autocrossing on R compound tires. IMO, you won't need to roll your fenders unless you go crazy and try to run 315s (even then, probably overkill unless you plan on going canyon carving - racing).
With the exception of BMW adj. LCAs (which are set to stock length) I have 100% stock A-Arms, TA, and panhard bar and the car handles just fine.

See you've got your crap straight. Most people go throwing all the sway bars and adjustable linkages they can at the car and forget to spend the money where it matters the most- tires and shocks. It continues to amaze me.

You are 100% right though, you need some sort of game plan - you just can't randomly slap suspension parts at the car and hope for the best.

I have upgraded bars as well, I just meant people get the idea if they spend enough, the will handle better and usually spend their budget with no plan on things that help a little and freak out when it comes to the cost of real rubber and shocks.
Sweet car BTW. Where's that shot taken?
